ODP is a charity that invests in self-sustaining projects. We implement this concept of self-sustainability even to the administration of the association.
To be able to create reminder, track donation, reminder member of their donation, all of which are to be done automatically or with least human interference, we needed to invest in an accounting software that will be able to do this efficiently and effectively for a large number of member.
Solution was QuickBooks Premier.
As was expected this software would come at a price and ODP maintain its policy of zero dollars of member donation to be used in admin cost we had to find a way to get the required funds.
Solution a BBQ and sell some ODP T-shirt.

One Dollar Project Governing Shurah would like to extend our warmest thanks and good wishes to all those who attended the first ever ODP Fundraising BBQ that was carried out on Sunday 5thFeb 2012 at the South Perth foreshore. The primary objective of the BBQ event was to raise funds for the purchase of the accounting software.
It is always inspiring when individuals like you show the willingness and enthusiasm in contributing towards alleviating global poverty. One Dollar Project is proud to have members like you who are willing to make a difference in the world by supporting self sustaining projects in developing countries. Remember, every dollar counts at One Dollar Project! We hope every attendee had a good time and enjoyed the food at the BBQ.

ODP’s member donations are not used for administration costs. All administration costs are paid for the by the governing shurah, and by fundraising events such as this one. Our aim is that all our members’ donations go directly to helping those communities that need it.
